To Him belongs the dominion, He is worthy of all praise, and He is capable of everything. My Lord, I ask You for the goodness of this day and of what follows it, and seek your protection from the evil of this day and of what follows it. We have reached the morning while we are upon the pure nature (fitrah) of Islām, and the word of Sincerity (i.e., the Shahādah), and the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and the creed of our forefather Ibrāhīm: He was pure in faith and was not of those who joined partners with Allah.

O Allah, this morning, indeed, I testify before You, Your Throne Bearers, Your (other) angels, and all of Your creation, that You are Allāh, there is no (true) god except You, alone, without any partners; and indeed (I testify) that Muhammad is your Servant and Messenger

Verses about the virtues of Dhikr

Allah Almighty orders the believers to continuously praise and remember Him. This is shown in some verses of the Holy Quran. Allah Almighty said in His divine book:

1- “So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.” (Al-Baqarah: 152)

2- “Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on their sides.” (Āl ʿImran: 191)

3- “And remember your Lord within yourself, in humility and fear, without being loud in speech, in the mornings and the evenings, and do not be among the heedless.” (Al-A’raf: 205)

4- “O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance.” (Al-Aḥzab: 41)

5- “The men who remember Allah often and the women who remember Allah often—for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.” (Al-Aḥzab: 35)

6- “So be patient over what they say and glorify the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and [also] glorify Him during periods of the night and at the ends of the day, so that you may be content.” (Ta-Ha: 130)

Morning Dua in Islam in the Light of Noble Sunnah

The importance of consistent Allah’s remembrance was clearly mentioned in the Hadith. Either through morning dua in Islam or evening adhkar, the Muslim could keep his heart connected to Allah.

As in the Hadith of Sahih Al-Bukhari, The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The example of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember his Lord is like that of the living and the dead.”

In another Hadith of Sahih Muslim, Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The mufarridun have preceded (others in virtue).” They asked, “Who are the mufarridun, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied: “Those men and women who remember Allah abundantly.”

And many other Hadiths that highlight this essential act of worship. May Allah make us among those who remember Him abundantly, men and women alike.
